October 2026 PHP advisory: PHP published critical fixes on 21 October and follow-up guidance on 23 October. A WordPress plugin update alone does not establish that the server runtime is patched. Review the official advisory and your hosting vendor’s update record.

Patch-status review
Record the hosting provider, PHP branch, installed package or provider confirmation, relevant advisory and the action recommended for this installation. A public version banner is not enough evidence by itself.
Backup and compatibility preparation
Agree the change window, available restore points, staging access and the plugins or custom code that need attention. Backups and recovery responsibility are confirmed before the implementation step.
Hosting coordination and site checks
Apply permitted changes or coordinate with the server administrator. Review the runtime actually serving web requests and check the agreed website journeys after the host completes its work.
A useful handover
Receive a change summary covering what was checked, what changed, validation results, remaining issues and the next owner. Ongoing maintenance is a separate agreed scope.
Patching PHP and updating WordPress are different jobs
Your website has more than one maintenance layer. WordPress, its extensions and the PHP runtime may be managed by different people. This service makes that division visible so the required runtime change is not mistaken for a completed plugin update.
On managed hosting, the provider may already have deployed a patched package. The right first step is to obtain the provider’s evidence and confirm the runtime in use. If that evidence shows the relevant fix is present, I will not propose the same patch as new work. Any application repair or additional checks are quoted on their own merits.
Remote delivery with a clear scope
I work remotely from India with website owners and agencies, including teams in the USA, UK, UAE, Australia and Singapore. We agree a communication channel and an update window around your team’s availability. The service does not depend on having a local office in your country.
Send the website URL, hosting company, the notice you received and the business functions you need checked. I will review the information, identify any access needed and propose deliverables and pricing. Root-level server work, specialist incident forensics and third-party licence charges are included only when expressly agreed and appropriate expertise is available.

Yes. The review begins with hosting and runtime evidence. Vendor backports or provider-managed updates can matter, so a version number displayed publicly is not treated as a complete result.
The hosting runtime needs its own patch or vendor-managed update. A WordPress security plugin can be part of a broader site configuration, but it is not evidence that the underlying PHP package has been fixed.
No. Updating a vulnerable runtime and investigating an already compromised site are different tasks. If compromise is suspected, I will propose a separately scoped recovery assessment.
No security service can promise the absence of every vulnerability. The deliverables are the agreed checks, approved changes, recorded results and clearly stated remaining work.
