A visitor clicks an advert for one service and arrives on a website that asks them to figure out the next step. Before commissioning more pages or increasing the advertising budget, define the landing-page job: who it is for, what the offer includes and how a useful enquiry reaches the business.

WordPress landing page development for Google Ads should be commissioned as a connected content, design and implementation scope. I build editable WordPress business websites and landing pages for businesses and agency teams. Here is the brief I would want before estimating your build.

Start with one offer and one qualified next step

State the service being advertised, the audience and the decision you want the visitor to make. An installation business, a consultancy and a software provider need different qualification questions. A useful brief explains what makes an enquiry relevant, including service area, project type and any genuine minimum engagement size.

Supply the advert copy and the intended search themes so the page can answer the same need. Google describes landing page experience as part of its Quality Score diagnostics. That supports reviewing relevance and usefulness; it does not mean a developer can promise a particular score, cost per click or number of leads by changing a headline.

Give the developer evidence they can publish truthfully

Prepare your service scope, real work examples, photographs you may use and the contact details customers should see. If you have an approved testimonial, include its wording and permission. If you do not, use specific explanations of the process and deliverables. A page does not need invented customer counts or unsupported claims to make a clear offer.

Ask the quote to identify who writes the copy and who approves it. Define what is included in a starting price or package if one appears on the page. A visitor should be able to understand the conditions before reaching the form, rather than discovering an entirely different service during a sales call.

Design the mobile enquiry journey before adding decoration

Agree how the page will work on a phone: readable text, clear controls, useful spacing and a form that fits the screen. List the actual content hierarchy, including the offer, work examples, scope, questions and contact action. A desktop mockup alone is not a complete acceptance brief.

For an Elementor build, specify which content your team needs to edit and what should be managed as a reusable part. Keep animation subordinate to reading and form entry. Include keyboard navigation, visible focus, required-field instructions and reduced-motion behaviour where motion is used. Those are practical review items, not a claim that a particular visual style guarantees more enquiries.

Decide what information makes a useful enquiry

Keep the form focused on the information the team will actually use. A typical service brief may need a name, email, required mobile number with a country-code hint, website or project context and a short description of the work. Any extra budget, timing or location question should have a clear purpose.

Map where the enquiry goes after submission: storage, email recipient, CRM owner and confirmation page. Ask who responds and how incomplete or unsuitable requests are handled. For a website replacing an existing form, identify the records and integrations that must be preserved. A polished success message is useful only when the business knows where to find the submitted enquiry.

Specify conversion tracking as an acceptance task

Agree which action is the primary outcome. A completed enquiry, a telephone-link click and a WhatsApp-link click describe different behaviours. The tracking brief should distinguish them. A click on an outbound contact link does not establish that a conversation happened, and a form-button click does not establish a saved lead.

Document how campaign information is carried to the enquiry without placing private form content in analytics. If an agency owns the advertising or analytics accounts, agree the access and handover with them. The launch check should say what was inspected and what was tested. Test submissions and outgoing notifications require the owner’s approval and clearly identified test data.

Compare quotes against a reviewable deliverables list

Ask each developer to price the same scope:

  • Approved content and the number of landing-page variants.
  • Editable layouts and mobile review criteria.
  • Form fields, storage, notification and CRM connections.
  • Tracking configuration and agreed validation.
  • Hosting, licence, publishing and post-launch support responsibilities.

Record who supplies design assets and who can approve the release. If the page uses the existing site’s shared navigation or footer, include that integration. If it is a dedicated campaign page, agree its navigation, indexation and canonical treatment deliberately. A separate page should not accidentally replace the main homepage or overwrite a live campaign destination.

Launch with a baseline, then improve from actual enquiries

Choose a review period and record the campaign context when assessing the page. Look at the relevance of the enquiries alongside the traffic and completed actions. A design change, a different audience and a revised offer can all affect the result, so keep a change record rather than crediting every movement to one button colour.

To commission a landing page, share your service, audience, advert or campaign brief, existing website and required connections. You can review my web development portfolio and then request a scoped build. I will outline the deliverables, access, approvals and pricing before starting. Advertising performance remains something to measure after launch, not a result promised by the development quote.
