ANY CMS TO SANITY / MIGRATION SERVICES
Your CMS to Sanity.
Content, structured.
CMS to Sanity migration and implementation for businesses and agency teams moving toward structured, reusable content. Plan schemas, rich text, assets and references, then agree the Studio experience and frontend work your project needs.
For businesses, publishers and agency teams
MIGRATION PLAN / ILLUSTRATIVE MAPPING

A WEBSITE MOVE WITH A DEFINED SCOPE
Move into Sanity.
Build the content model first.
A headless migration changes how content is modelled, edited and delivered. Begin with the editorial patterns you need—not a page-for-page copy of the old CMS. I assess available source access, propose a destination schema and test a representative content sample. We then agree the import, Sanity Studio setup and any frontend integration as separate, reviewable parts of the implementation.
ANY CMS TO SANITY / WHAT TO PLAN
A practical scope.
Built around your site.
These are implementation options to agree after discovery. The proposal identifies the included work, assumptions, exclusions and acceptance checks.
Source and destination assessment
Review the current CMS, export or API access, content volume and channels consuming the data. “Any CMS” describes a source assessment service; feasibility is confirmed for your installation.
Content schema design
Define document types, fields, reusable objects and references. Agree which values are shared, how content is identified and how editors should create and maintain it in Sanity.
Rich text and embedded content
Transform supported rich text into Portable Text or another agreed destination structure. Test links, images, embeds and custom blocks rather than importing a whole page as an opaque HTML field.
Assets and relationships
Map images, files, document references and locale relationships. Use stable source identifiers and reconciliation checks to identify missing assets or broken connections.
Studio and preview integration
Configure the agreed editing structure and field validation. Scope preview, visual editing or a connected frontend according to the stack, hosting and editorial workflow your team chooses.
Staged imports and handover
Pilot the transformation, validate the imported data and plan the final update window. Review integration side effects, deployment responsibilities and practical editing documentation.
ILLUSTRATIVE CONTENT MAPPING
From the source.
To a useful destination.
A planning example, not a promise of automatic conversion. The final field and feature map is based on your installation and a representative content test.

DESTINATION
Sanity document types and reusable objects
Model content around editorial needs and intended channels.

Rich text, assets and links
DESTINATION
Portable Text and asset/document references
Test the supported structures and reconcile missing links.

DESTINATION
A retained or rebuilt frontend
Sanity content migration does not automatically rebuild a website.
CLARIFY THIS BEFORE THE BUILD
One content platform.
A separate frontend decision.
Choose what becomes structured
Review a normal page, a heavily composed page and a reused content item. Decide which source layout details belong in content and which should be handled by frontend components. This keeps the new model useful beyond the first import.
Treat import and validation as different steps
Sanity documents bulk import, assets and references, with validation behaviour that differs between Studio and API writes. Include explicit destination data checks in the migration plan rather than assuming an import success message proves content quality.
Plan the consumer applications
A Sanity dataset can feed a separate website or application. Agree the frontend framework, routes, rendering, preview, forms and deployment. If the public website changes, include its redirect and metadata plan in that frontend scope.
This page offers migration into Sanity, not Sanity to WordPress. Source access and supported transformations are confirmed in discovery. Sanity subscriptions, hosting, custom integrations and a new frontend are separately scoped; no vendor partnership or automatic compatibility is claimed.
FROM REVIEW TO RELEASE
Make each stage
easy to review.
01
Assess the source
Review the current site, available access, content types and dependencies. Agree the migration boundary and the decisions needed before a full quote.
02
Prove the mapping
Transform representative content in staging. Review the editing experience, references, links and difficult cases with the people approving the destination.
03
Build and reconcile
Implement the agreed templates or Studio configuration, migrate the approved content set and check counts, relationships, media and important visitor journeys.
04
Release and hand over
Agree the final update window, backups, release approval and recovery plan. Document editing and maintenance responsibilities, then review the agreed post-launch checks.
Direct remote collaboration: I work from India with businesses and agency teams internationally. We agree communication, review checkpoints and the working-hour overlap your project needs. Review the portfolio to discuss relevant work; no source-platform case study is implied by this service page.
BEFORE YOU COMMISSION THE MOVE
Good questions.
Clear answers.
A few details to settle before an assessment becomes a development plan.
I can assess WordPress and other source CMSs where authorised export or API access is available. Content complexity, plugins or extensions, assets, relationships and the destination schema determine feasibility and scope.
Yes. Here the destination is Sanity. The existing Sanity to WordPress service moves in the opposite direction. We choose the platform according to the editing, publishing and application requirements.
Only when it is explicitly included in the proposal. Content modelling, data transformation, Studio configuration and frontend delivery are separate workstreams with their own acceptance checks.
We define the destination structures, transform supported rich text and map source relationships to Sanity references. A representative pilot and reconciliation checks identify unsupported blocks or missing records before the full import.
Yes. Your content team uses the agreed Sanity Studio configuration, with document types, field guidance and an editing structure matched to the workflow. Handover covers the editorial process, preview and responsibility for future schema or frontend changes.
The proposal considers source access, content types, assets, relationships, locales, Studio requirements and the frontend scope. Share the existing site and intended channels so the first release and ongoing responsibilities can be defined.
A CLEAR BRIEF. A USEFUL FIRST CONVERSATION.
Show me where
you want to go.
Share the current website, what you want to improve and the dependencies that must keep working. I’ll review the outline with you before proposing the scope and next steps.
Useful details: Your current CMS, content volume, languages, intended Sanity frontend and the editing experience you need.
A quote separates discovery, implementation, third-party costs and ongoing support. Scope and schedule depend on the source review and approvals.
