Japanese and English content can place different demands on a website layout. For a Japan business commissioning WordPress development, review the real copy on mobile before approving a page system. The useful brief identifies the typefaces, content owners and layout variations needed for both languages, so the final site remains readable and editable after handover.

Provide real examples for the first design review

Choose representative headings, navigation labels, paragraphs and calls to action in each required language. Include a long title and a short one. Placeholder copy can hide the line breaks and spacing that will appear once the actual content arrives.

The business supplies or arranges a qualified Japanese reviewer and approved terminology. The developer implements the agreed text and layout; a visually balanced screen does not by itself establish that the language is correct.

  • Approved Japanese and English sample copy.
  • Typeface and character coverage.
  • Long and short navigation labels.
  • Mobile form and confirmation wording.

Review line breaking with the intended content

W3C’s line-breaking overview explains that writing systems have different break opportunities and punctuation conventions. A bilingual review should inspect the actual Japanese text rather than apply English word-spacing assumptions indiscriminately.

Check headings, buttons, cards and mixed text such as product identifiers or email addresses. A layout adjustment should preserve readable type instead of shrinking text to force the original desktop arrangement. Identify approved exceptions in the component brief.

Choose a manageable page relationship

Decide which pages have language counterparts and which content is intentionally available in one language. A switcher should reach the appropriate version of the current page where it exists and a deliberate alternative where it does not.

Keep the navigation, contact routes and repeated sections in the language inventory. A translated homepage does not establish that the service enquiry or error message is supported. Assign responsibility for updates to each counterpart.

Build the editing model around normal changes

Use native Elementor widgets and containers for routine content. Shared styles and site parts should remain consistent while allowing approved language-specific treatment. The editor should know whether a change affects one page, several pages or a language counterpart.

Ask the future editor to change a heading, replace an image and update a link. Review the result in both languages. This reveals whether the promised editable build works with the content the business will actually maintain.

Test the enquiry at narrow widths

Review labels, required fields, errors and the submit action with the real language copy. A required telephone field needs a country-code hint and should support the agreed international audience. Keep a clear contact alternative for questions outside the form’s scope.

Then inspect the saved enquiry and authorised notification through an agreed test. A correct-looking bilingual form and a useful staff handover are separate deliverables. The proposal should identify both.

Does this include translation writing? This offer scopes technical development. Approved Japanese copy and language review need to be included in the client’s project arrangements.

Discuss a scoped implementation

Send a representative page design, approved language samples and the editing tasks your team needs. We can scope a Japanese-English implementation sample before rolling out the complete website.
