WordPress Export Catalogues for Taiwan Manufacturers: Traditional Chinese, English and Datasheets
A website commissioning brief for manufacturers whose overseas buyers need accurate product information before requesting a quotation.

An overseas buyer may discover your Taiwan manufacturing business through a marketplace, then visit your own website to check specifications, capabilities and contact details. If the English catalogue lacks the latest drawing or a clear enquiry route, the buyer has to reconstruct the requirement by email. A useful WordPress export catalogue connects the product information to the request the sales team receives.
Give each product a stable reference
Begin with the identifier that sales and engineering already recognise. A translated title should not become the only way to identify a product. Keep the reference visible on the page, on approved datasheets and in the saved enquiry. Decide whether families, models and configurable options deserve separate records.
The US International Trade Administration’s Taiwan ecommerce overview identifies B2B marketplaces among the country’s commerce channels. Your own catalogue can support the deeper product review after that discovery; marketplace participation and a standalone website serve different roles.
- Reference and product family.
- Approved specification fields and units.
- Current datasheet and drawing revision.
- The contact route appropriate to the product.
Plan Traditional Chinese and English as connected content
Agree which products and technical documents are available in each language. Use approved Traditional Chinese copy for the intended audience rather than assuming a Simplified Chinese version is interchangeable. The client supplies or arranges the language reviewer, especially for technical terminology.
A bilingual catalogue needs ownership rules. When a specification changes, who updates the English page, checks its translation and replaces the linked PDF? Give the editor a visible list of outstanding counterparts. A language switch should reach the matching product where it exists and an agreed fallback where it does not.
Treat downloads as part of the product journey
Name documents clearly and display the information a buyer needs to choose the right file, such as language, format and approved revision. Distinguish a public datasheet from a drawing available only after a sales discussion. That access decision belongs to the business.
Check PDF links inside product descriptions as well as the download panel. A replaced file can leave old links in search results or bookmarked by existing buyers. Decide which addresses remain stable, which receive a replacement and which should explain that a document has been withdrawn.
Design the RFQ around the chosen product
A quote button should carry the product reference into the enquiry rather than send everyone to a blank contact form. For configurable products, define the minimum useful information: selected model, requested quantity, intended use and any approved specification options.
Keep the first request manageable on mobile. Require a mobile number with a country-code hint, explain any file upload and show a clear confirmation. If several products can be requested together, the sales record must preserve each line instead of flattening the selection into an unreadable paragraph.
For a more extensive quote workflow, review custom WordPress plugin development against the specific gap in the current tools.
Review the catalogue with sales and the future editor
Choose a simple product, one with variants and one with a revised document. Ask a sales user to identify the product from the resulting enquiry. Ask an editor to update a specification and replace the download without changing the layout. Those two reviews reveal whether the proposed structure is useful.
Before launch, agree language URLs, redirects for existing product addresses, descriptive image text and the pages included in search. Search visibility also depends on the quality of the product content and competition; the build should make accurate content maintainable rather than promise a position.
Must every product be translated at launch? No. Publish the agreed language inventory and make incomplete or unavailable counterparts explicit.

Discuss a scoped implementation
Send three representative product references, approved datasheets, the required languages and an example of a useful quotation request. That gives us a practical first catalogue page to scope, including its editing controls and sales handover.
